Specialist Markets: Art Market
The market is held in St Ann's Square, Manchester City Centre and showcases only original works, usually paintings and prints, for sale by the artists themselves who usually grab the opportunity to announce their arrival.
Times and Dates: The market is held on 25 and 26 June between 10 am and 5.30 pm every year.
Specialist Markets: Christmas Markets
The Christmas markets are a firm fixture of everybody’s yuletide diary. Immerse yourself in the ambience of an international show with a distinctive Mancunian flavour. European and local producers offer everything from fine amber jewellery and handcrafted leather bags to top quality bonsai trees. It is an excellent place for alternative gift ideas. In 2007, an average of 43,000 visitors came to the Albert Square market daily and a gigantic sum of £42.6 million went into the coffers in the five weeks the markets ran.
Christmas Markets are held at Albert Square, St Ann’s Square, Exchange Street, New Cathedral Street, Brazennose Street and Exchange Square and Triangle. Manchester's Christmas Markets open on Wednesday, 18 November 2009 and run until Tuesday, 21 December 2009 and most have times of 10 am to 10 pm.
