Manchester Budget Accommodation

Manchester hotels

Manchester is an often-overlooked center of British and worldly culture that should not be taken lightly. Most of the hostels that the city offers are located right in the center and are easy to reach to start your own valiant exploration of the city.

The cheapest bed in the city can be found at Hatters on Newton Street where you can stay for $16. Hatters is honest about its attempt to appeal to the partying type of traveler. Pub crawls are hosted by the hostel itself that go into the city center that is five minutes away. Coffee, tea and toast is served all day long for free so that you may feel comfortable coming back to your hospitable hostel for some classic English refreshments.

Ashton House Hostel is a charming place where you can get a bed for $20. It is a converted hotel that used to serve the nearby Manchester Victoria Railway Station. The place is completely new and comfortable, and, fitting into the new market of "Boutique Hostel," Ashton House has outdone itself with the new renovations, including new massage showers that you will be stressed to find in many other hostels. The one downside to Ashton House is its above average room-size, something that is fixed by a lower price than other hostels of its standard. If you don't mind the crowd and the inevitable snorer, then this would be a good bet for your time in Manchester.

To the southwest of the city center is YHA Manchester, a trendy place that offers beds for $27. While it is farther away from the center of the city than the others, YHA is a consistent establishment that will provide you with a great hub from which you can explore the city. It is not far from some decent restaurants, which can be pointed to by the overly helpful and knowledgeable staff. YHA has its own bar for those nights when you want to indulge without traveling far. As opposed to Hatters, YHA is a much more quiet and laid back place to stay. This is definitely something to keep in mind as you approach planning for your stay in Manchester, a place that suits partiers and non-partiers alike.
